On October 20, 2011 Pastor Tim Nommensen and member Nick Schrubble from St. John St James Ev Lutheran Church presented Reedsville Police Chief Jo Ann Mignon a donation of $1500.00. The congregation heard the department was in need of new portable radios so they started raising funds for this purpose. I was so shocked and thrilled when I received the phone call stating they had done this for our department. Our radios are our life line when we are out on the street and this donation will assure we can communicate with our dispatch center and other area officers and departments. Earlier this year Mignon had reported to the Village board the department would need to purchase a new mobile squad radio and a portable. At that time the board decided to make the purchase of the mobile radio and see where they could find the funds to purchase the needed portable. Chief Mignon advised board members after receiving the call about the fund drive and donation. Chief Mignon said we all agreed there are no words that can say thank enough to those who donated to this cause.
